NEW YORK CITY- BET's Mad Linx of "Rap City" catches up with actor/author Hill Harper while he's touring the country to promote his new book, Letters to a Young Brother: MANifest Your Destiny, which offers life guidance to young black men. Written as e-mails sent between Harper and a young fan, it includes advice from the spiritual to the practical. In an in-depth, exclusive interview, Mad Linx finds out why Harper decided to write the book, about his struggles in getting it published, why he thought it was necessary to write, and about being a black male actor in Hollywood.
"There are a lot of things people don't realize about Hill Harper, like he graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and with a J.D from Harvard Law School. Yet he's of the Hip Hop generation. And you have to hear his opinions about the status of young black men in America," says Linx. "So tune in and check out what this talented brother has to say."
The Hill Harper interview airs June 7th, 2006.
"Rap City" is one of BET's top-rated shows hosted by Mad Linx. It airs Monday to Friday, 5-6 pm EST.
