2 years research results in first ever CENSA awards ceremony

The floodgates have opened on electronic laboratory notebook acquisition; 36% of the companies surveyed last summer had plans to purchase in the next 6 months and 60% had ELN initiatives underway (Infotrieve 2005).

Two years of intensive research by CENSA Chief Science and Technology Director, Richard Lysakowski has unearthed the true champions of electronic record creation, use and archiving and they will be on hand to receive their awards and give best practice case studies on their prize winning work at the 6th annual ELNs and Laboratory Informatics meeting.

The agenda for the 6th Annual ELNs meeting has been designed to reflect the shift in priorities surrounding ELNs. In order to achieve optimum ROI on an investment it is essential that to be aware of how to bring about total integration into the hierarchy of lab informatics. If there is anything less than complete understanding of the wider picture surrounding ELNs, i.e. how to address financial, cultural and temporal issues as well as the practical elements of acquisition and evaluation, it will be impossible to realise the full potential of an electronic laboratory notebook systems.
