Second Annual “Fur Fair” Dog Show to be held on June 24 (rain or shine) at Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham

DATELINE: HINGHAM AND NORWELL, MASS … Zoomin Groomin Mobile Pet Spa will hold their second annual “Fur Fair”, a dog show parody that puts owners on stage along with their dogs. The fun, off-beat event will be held on Saturday, June 24th (rain or shine) from 12p.m. to 4p.m., at the Derby Street Shoppes, located immediately off Route 3 in Hingham, Mass. Zoomin Groomin is a Mobile Pet Spa service offering franchises throughout the U.S. and is headquartered in Norwell, Mass.

More than 80 dogs and their owners were in attendance at last year’s Fur Fair. A large brindle Great Dane and his Dachshund sibling (from Weymouth) stole the show last year during a hilarious bathing suit contest. Other talented canines included a dog who could speak Spanish and one who could sing Jingle Bells. All clean up provided by Doody Calls.

Zoomin Groomin’s "Fur Fair" is an opportunity for dog owners to show off their dogs in a fun, no-stress atmosphere. The lighthearted competitions will include a bathing suit contest for dogs (bring a suit), AKC Canine Good Citizen testing, a peanut butter licking contest (the peanut butter will also be provided), an agility demonstration, a doggie parade (bring a costume), pet tricks competition, and for both owners and dogs there will be barking contest. Prizes will be awarded.

Donations are appreciated and all proceeds will be donated to the Driftway Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter in Scituate, Mass. The show is sponsored by: Zoomin Groomin, Derby Street Shoppes and Doody Calls.
