Keeping Arizona and Sonora safe, strong and prosperous on behalf of both states’ administrations and business communities is no easy feat. However, for nearly 50 years the AMC, chaired by Arizona’s governor, has championed public and private sector relationships between the states, stimulating Arizona’s economic growth by creating programs and galvanizing public initiatives to benefit the people of the region.
The AMC’s structure includes 13 bi-national committees populated by members and lead by public and private sector industry leaders. Each committee will meet during the Plenary to plan and discuss the projects the AMC and CSA’s committees implement daily to advance the AMC’s mission of bringing improved economy and quality of life for Arizona and Sonora.
The committees:
· Agribusiness
· Art and Culture
· Border Issues
· Economic Development
· Education
· Emergency Management
· Environment
· Finance, Business and Legal Services
· Health Services
· Real Estate Ad Hoc
· Sports Ad Hoc
· Transportation
· Tourism
Plenary Sessions are attended by AMC and CSA membership and open to the public (please see the AMC Web site for registration and fees). AMC members are public and private sector business leaders, legislators, policy influencers, and community leaders from around Arizona and the U.S. Generally, non-member attendees come from the similar professional areas, and all share a common desire to serve as international ambassadors for the relationships between Arizona and Mexico.
