(Hudson, Ohio, USA) – Bob Dianetti, president and founder of RADCom, a Northeast Ohio training and documentation consulting firm, walked the Rite Aid Cleveland Half-marathon yesterday in 3 hrs. 46 minutes while raising approximately $2025 dollars for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training® (TNT). Dianetti started training several months ago using the TNT system. While walking his way to better health, he was also helping a cause very near and dear to his improved heart.
“My son Mikey is the real hero in the family,” said Dianetti. “He’s been fighting leukemia since 2004, and he’s the happiest 5-year old I know. I completed the walk to raise funds for the Leukemia Society and to get healthier so I can watch Mikey and my other sons grow into strong, healthy, and caring adults. With Type 2 diabetes, I need to set the example for my children.”
Team In Training, founded in 1988, is the world's largest endurance sports training program. It offers a 16-to-20-week daily training schedule designed for everyone from novice to advanced athlete. Coaches work with participants on form and nutrition in addition to the training necessary to cross the finish line of a major endurance event. Those runners and walkers reaching or exceeding their fundraising goal get race registration, hotel stay, pre-race pasta dinner and post-race victory celebration provided by the Society. Since 1988, more than 295,000 volunteer participants have helped raise more than $660 million.
Athletes can register for an information meeting or learn more by visiting the Team In Training® website at www.teamintraining.org/noh or by calling (440) 617-CURE (2873) or toll free at (800) 589-5721. Dianetti will continue to walk for health, fun, and family, and as part of RADCom’s Mighty Mikey’s Marchers at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night® Walk on September 23 in Cuyahoga Falls.
