NSS - FIRST IN MALAYSIA TO GET ISO 27001 CERTIFIED

Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, 22 May 2006 – NSS MSC Sdn Bhd (“NSS” or the “Company”) Asia’s leading information security company, the first in Malaysia to have obtained the ISO 27001 certification and 118th in the world. The Company has successfully completed the transition from BS 7799-2:2002 to ISO 27001:2005 in April and received its formal certification today from British Standards Institution. NSS was certified with BS 7799-2:2002 in July, 2004.

ISO 27001 certification is a formal standard against which organizations may seek independent certification of their Information Security Management System (ISMS). The ISMS is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls that protects information assets and give confidence to certified organizations. The standard is a new revision from the formal British Standard BS7799-2:2002 and was upgraded and adapted by ISO as ISO 27001:2005.
