Edward Lehman Meets with Chicago Mayor

Beijing, China - May 18, 2006 – Lehman, Lee & Xu managing partner, Edward Lehman, was invited to attend and advise Chicago mayor, Richard Daley, in his meeting with Ministry of Commerce Minister, Bo Xilai. Daley met with the MOFCOM head in an effort to create closer relations between China and the city of Chicago. Given the importance of the event, a large number of both American and Chinese businesspeople and academics were invited to attend. Among the group was Dali L. Yang (Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science, University of Chicago), J.D. Bindenagel (Vice President for Community Government and International Affairs, DePaul University), Raymond Chan (President, R.M. China & Associates, Inc.), William Beddow (Caterpillar Inc.), Gerald Shaheen (Caterpillar Inc.), Evan Osnos (Chicago Tribune), and Gregory Gilligan (McDonald’s).
The meeting was part of Daley’s trip to the Chinese capital to study its bid and current preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games, after an announcement that Chicago will seriously consider making a bid for the Games in 2016.
