Faylene Christensen a junior at Jordan High said, "Every time I see a red wristband I remember that there are people willing to give up their life so that I can have a brighter future.' The Freedom bands are yet another reminder to this generation that Freedom does not come free Kamie Kirton a staff writer for The Beetdigger Post stated in a recent article. At a recent school assembly the Student Body President who is also a FBLA member Madison Warren and FBLA President Chase Broadhead presented a check for $15,000 to Kib and Lisa Jensen and their four children who run the non-profit Share Our Gifts Foundation whose goal is to raise $25 million dollars for the troops and their families. The Jensen's were impressed and amazed with the large amount of money that one school, the Jordan High students raised in such a short period of time.
The $15,000 will be given to the Fisher House and The Armed Forces Children's Education Fund which both provide college scholarships to the children of those who lost their lives protecting our Freedoms.
This year the Jordan High FBLA is planning on taking this service project to state with the hope that their 30 page essay and oral presentation on what they have done will inspire others and schools to duplicate or surpass the $15,000 they raised..
You can also help by purchasing red Freedom bands for only $1.00 each at freedombands.com with 100% of the proceeds going to the troops.
