DALLAS, TEXAS –Bobby Wilson, professional golfer and 2004 RE/MAX world long drive senior champion, was recently named the 2006 Long Drivers of America (LDA) Texas Shootout champion in the senior division.

“Bobby Wilson is a legend in long driving. He's one of the best, most consistent hitters we've ever had in this sport,” said Art Sellinger, LDA owner and CEO. “The RE/MAX of Texas Shootout is his 11th LDA title, by far the most of any long drive competitor. Every time he tees it up, Bobby's the player to beat."

The RE/MAX of Texas Shootout, an annual LDA event that includes top-tier professional long drivers, features competition in two divisions, open and senior. The Texas Shootout, which is restricted to LDA members, was held May 6 in Dallas, Texas. Wilson’s 369-yard drive was enough to edge out his competition, Frank Miller of Covina, Calif. It was Wilson’s 11th LDA career win.

“As a member of the LDA hall of fame, Bobby was thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in this event in his home state.” said Dana Hughens, spokesperson for Bobby Wilson, and president of public relations, Rockett Burkhead Winslow.
