Toronto, Ontario (PRleap) – Endangered Couture’s first annual poster contest celebrating Earth Day and Pitch-in Canada Week 2006 announces its winner and runner-ups!

First place prize going to Liz Hayward with a very striking piece against fur for fashion. Miss Hayward has recently graduated from York University Sheridan College Joint Program in graphic design, and did initially create this piece for a school project. In hope that her poster will get the message out, she entered it into the Endangered Couture poster contest. With such a beautiful thought provoking piece, we hope that it will one day be published in a media outlet that shares the same values.

First place runner-up Gillian Lavery features an inspirational quote by Ghandi with a beautiful photograph in the background. Second place runner-up Rob Chodos, approaches the topic with a unique photograph and adds in a sense of humor to send a message against the over-exploitation of endangered animals. Third place runner-up is Isabella DeMarco, sent us a very colourful illustration promoting recycling and anti-littering.

Posters were judged in three areas, design, originality and message.
Suggested topics included endangered animals, global warming, recycling or any topic involving the Earth. Participants were able to draw, paint, photograph, or design their poster on the computer; any type of media was acceptable. Words were also encouraged to enhance images or a poem.

First place prize won an Endangered Couture t-shirt, as well as other additional presents. All participants, including runner-ups as well as the winner have received an official certificate of participation.
