npower Selects DigiCore for Fleet Management Solution

MeterPlus, the metering division of the energy company npower, has selected vehicle tracking specialist DigiCore for the provision of an advanced fleet management solution. Under the agreement, DigiCore will install its C-track fleet management system in 300 vans that operate in the North-East, Yorkshire, North-West and East Midlands regions.

The C-track system provides an effective vehicle tracking tool that gives total transparency of fleet movements in real-time. The telematics-based system is designed to enhance MeterPlus’ scheduling and planning process through improved fleet visibility, enabling the company to maximise the productivity of its mobile workforce and assets.

In addition to providing increased fleet control, the solution will also feature added-value driver support with fully-integrated remote panic alert and portable satellite navigation functionality.

The remote alert – which can be used within 20 metres of the vehicle – will enable employees to alert npower of any potential problems or incidents, providing drivers with added security. The portable navigational unit gives detailed routing with turn-by-turn directions, voice guidance, and fast automatic off-route and detour recalculation.
