Blue Noodle Jewelry officially launches the opening of their online store the first week of May 2006. Two designers (Marsha Martens and Marianna Boylan) collaborate together to create a unique twist on jeweled accessories. The fact that they’ve never met bothers neither one of them.

Noodles and swirls and lava lamps, oh my! From the moment the front page loads, you can tell that you are in for a fun time. Their purpose behind creating jewelry and the boldness of their website can be summed up in one simple sentence. “Why? Because We Can.”

It’s true that the two designers have never actually met in meat space. A constant stream of emails, phone calls and exchange of design images is what keeps the two united. Lightening struck the moment the two “met” when Martens purchased some lampwork beads created by Boylan, owner and glass art bead maker at Star Girl Jewelry. They’ve been friends ever since. Now, almost five years later, their online business is challenging the rules of traditional jewelry making.

Their goal is to create fun and eye-grabbing designs that are still wearable and practical for everyday wear. Oceans of gemstones, waves of silver and handmade chain are a key feature in many of their designs. Although they create what they like and would wear themselves, Marsha and Marianna are also known for their commissioned pieces for brides. They also create pieces for special events…or just whatever their customer can imagine!
