April 28, 2006 Syracuse, NY - Oxford Business and Financial Directory is pleased to announce it has launched and is open for business. You may find the Oxford Business and Financial Directory at http://www.oxfordcredit.com.“We are very pleased to present a human edited web directory. Our goal is to provide consumers with quality information and to give businesses a great listing with our easy to use directory” Kimberly DeMonte said. Oxford Business and Financial Directory has been in the works for about a year as the owner Kimberly DeMonte tried to find the best format to lay out the directory.
“It was not easy finding the best design for the directory as we tried to make it both user and business friendly. We really tried to go the extra mile with this directory, mostly by adding user friendly features like articles and a forum.” Ms. DeMonte said. The fact that Oxford Business and Financial Directory offer’s both free and paid listings is not that unique, what is unique is the pricing of the sponsored listings.
“We know what it is like to be a webmaster and apply to 100 directories. Most directories want at least $20.00 for just the review with no guarantee of a listing. We offer a choice of a free listing, (which may take a while to get approved based on volume), a standard listing, a premium listing and a sponsored listing. The pricing is very user friendly and you have a choice of: free, $5, $10 and $15 respectively.” Ms. DeMonte added.
With Oxford Business and Financial Directory being incubated for the past 12 months it has built up a nice Page Rank, this is a system Google uses to determine the relevance of the sites content, of a PR 4. “We know how important Page Rank is to the webmaster’s business. We intend to grow our page rank by having a content rich site, plenty of incoming links and quality control.” Ms. DeMonte said.
Oxford Business and Financial Directory is hand-edited which means not just anyone can link to the directory, each link and the content of the site is evaluated by Oxford’s editors. Ms. DeMonte added, “We understand how webmasters and site owners are bombarded with link requests of unscrupulous website owners, mostly in the adult, gambling and pharmaceutical areas. Because of this we will not allow any of these sites to link to us and we will not link to them. Our integrity is important, for everyone involved.”
Keeping it clean and maintaining high standards seems to be Oxford’s niche in the web directory business. Ms. DeMonte made it quite clear to us that she and the editors have higher standards than most directories in the market place. “We are not saying that your site has to be perfect, but we are saying it has to be a truly high quality directory and easy to use. We see a lot of link farms; difficult to navigate sites and what we refer to as a “trapping site” (these are sites that do not let you exit their pages) that try to get listed and they are declined right away.” Ms. DeMonte said.
“We wanted to add sponsored listings to our directory to give business and webmasters more exposure. Most webmasters know that after the first 100 listings on directories the link gets discounted on the search engines. Having a sponsored link is key to getting indexed by the search engines and gaining page rank, but we felt pricing should be fair and inexpensive.” Ms. DeMonte said.
Clearly pricing, human editing, quality control and usability of the site are what sets Oxford apart from the competition.
Ms. DeMonte and Oxford Business and Financial Directory encourages webmasters to submit their links at http://www.oxofrdcredit.com and get listed. Ms. DeMonte did forewarn us that a free listing will take at least 60 days and longer to get listed, due to a back log.
