FSI Tax Celebrates One of Its Lowest Tax Debt Settlements
May 01, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Nicole Thomas, a Licensed Taxpayer Representative at FSI Tax Corp, completed negotiations this month with the Internal Revenue Service for one of the tax firm’s lowest tax debt settlements to date. In the settlement, which Thomas negotiated through the IRS Offer in Compromise Program, the IRS agreed to accept $1,204 to fully satisfy the $31,000 tax debt. Thomas said the final settlement was based on many factors, such as the client’s sporadic income, lack of tangible assets and expenses that include child support payments. According to Thomas, many low-income taxpayers end up indebted to the IRS because of under-withholding. These taxpayers often find themselves in difficult situations because they are usually unable to save up enough money to pay their full tax bill.
“Many taxpayers who struggle from paycheck to paycheck often claim the maximum exemptions so they can take home the majority of their paychecks,” said Thomas. “Low- to middle-income Americans consider the income tax a burden because they do not want to give money to Uncle Sam when they can’t afford immediate needs like food and rent.”
Thomas said she is thrilled to be able to help her clients and work with the IRS to reduce their tax debts whenever possible. This particular client stills calls to thank her to this day.
“I truly appreciate all the hard work and professionalism Ms. Thomas extended to my family and me. She guided me through the entire process step by step. I would recommend her and FSI Tax to anyone who needs the services they provide.”
