SmartInspect 1.4 with full configuration file support released

PADERBORN, Germany – Gurock Software, a German startup specialized in software development tools, announces the release of SmartInspect 1.4. SmartInspect is an advanced logging tool for debugging and monitoring .NET, Java and Delphi applications. SmartInspect 1.4 includes major new features like the new Tasks toolbox, full configuration file support and the new Configuration Builder.

SmartInspect now fully supports configuration files to dynamically configure the SmartInspect libraries at runtime. A SmartInspect configuration file specifies the log level of the current application, the enabled status, the application name and the logging destinations. By using SmartInspect configuration files it is now possible to change the log level and enable logging at runtime without changing the application itself.

To make it easier to create SmartInspect configuration files, the former Connections Builder has been extended and renamed to the SmartInspect Configuration Builder. This tool allows SmartInspect users to quickly create configuration files by just selecting the desired options and logging destinations.

The new Tasks toolbox provides shortcuts to often used features like opening recent log files and searching for log entries in the current log. Additionally the Tasks toolbox contains links to important help topics to make it easier for new users to get started with SmartInspect. Other new features and changes include support for Borland Developer Studio 2006 Update 2 (including Delphi 2006), new help topics on log levels, filtering, code templates and configuration files and example log files for new users of SmartInspect.

The new SmartInspect version can be ordered directly from Gurock Software's website for $229 (US) per user. Registered customers can download the new version at the My Gurock.com portal for free. A 45 days fully functional trial version is available for download.
