CorelDraw Graphics Suite 12.0: A Complete Graphics Package In One

The CorelDraw Graphics Suite 12.0

The CorelDraw Graphics Suite 12.0 consists of three programs that provide users the tools for editing all types of graphics, including vector, bitmap, and simple web animation. It includes three Corel programs- CorelDraw, Corel Photo-Paint, and Corel RAVE- along with a more affordable rate than the Adobe Suite. The program can handle complex illustration and multipage desktop publishing, and is integrated with Corel Photo-Paint, the suite's image editor.

All the applications are easy to master because of the availability of an interface and tutorial CD. And with its ability to import/export to Adobe applications, CorelDraw Graphics 12.0 is a complete graphics package suitable for anyone.

Setup and Interface

All three of its applications—illustration (CorelDraw), image editing (Corel Photo-Paint), and animation (Corel RAVE)—sport highly usable, totally configurable interfaces. It allows users the capability to create separate work spaces and unique toolbars for specific tasks such as brochures or creative illustration, and then save the entire setup to be reused later.
The suite has four CDs, with the three major applications contained on the first CD. High quality clip art, photos, templates, fonts, and training material are found in the other three CDs.

Features

CorelDraw, Corel Photo-Paint, and Corel RAVE cover the entire range of graphics tools that could help users to complete whatever task they have at hand. Furthermore, Corel has added some drawing tool additions, such as better font control (easy Unicode character access) and import/export support (export to Microsoft and WordPerfect Office, enhanced SVG AutoCAD, Visio, and HPGL filters). One can now sketch shapes and the tool will automatically convert them into precise forms. The suite also retains its import/export capabilities for Adobe file formats, such as EPS and PSD.
Integration among the three major applications is made easy. One can make necessary edits with a bitmap image by double-clicking the image in CorelDraw to launch Corel Photo-Paint. Once the user returns to CorelDraw, the update image will be present. Similarly, one can also drag the image to Corel RAVE and add animation effects.

The Negative

However, with only minimal enhancements to Photo-Paint and RAVE, the upgrade price is a bit expensive that current users may want to think twice before switching versions.
