The PowerShot G6 is quick to start up so you won't be likely to miss a shot. It has interface cables for transferring files and AV cables so users can plug their cameras into a TV for easy viewing. It also includes rechargeable batteries and chargers.
Nevertheless, it is too bulky to be called compact. In addition, the video from the PowerShot G6 is limited only to 30 seconds at 10 fps. Its lens cap merely fits snugly, putting the lenses at risk of damage.
