Toronto, Ontario (April 26 2006) – In celebration of Earth Day and Pitch-in Canada Week, Endangered Couture is holding an all ages poster contest! All submissions will receive a present and the winning poster designer will receive a free t-shirt! Endangered Couture is also looking to see if any newspapers or media outlets would be interested in showcasing the winning design! The deadline is May 8th and all submissions can be sent to contest@endangeredcouture.com, more information can be found on the EC website at www.endangeredcouture.com!
In addition to the poster contest, Endangered Couture also believes that it’s important to turn words into action. Since its Pitch-in Canada Week from April 24-30, there are plenty of events going on throughout Canada to get involved in! Founder and Designer Tamara Danielle has already registered herself and friends to go down to one of Toronto’s Islands and help clean up the shore on Sunday, April 30th. This is one of the many events held by the Toronto Bay Initiative, to read more about the TBI please visit their website (www.torontobay.net ) and see how you can get involved or get ideas for your own environmental initiative.
Promoting environmental awareness and living with an environmental conscious should be year-round. Helping to clean up your local shoreline and volunteering in other environmental events is significant. Endangered Couture’s founder has also registered herself for another clean-up event in September 2006, organized by TD Canada Trust Great Canadian Shoreline Clean Up, after donating ad space on their website to the organization; she felt it was also important to get involved! More information for this organization can be found at www.vanaqua.org/cleanup.
Visit Endangered Couture’s website after the contest deadline and find out who won! Get a sneak peak at their new children’s t-shirt line and find out how you can help save the earth year-round.
Endangered Couture is not just about pictures and words, because it’s also about action and actually putting in effort to make a difference. Part of Endangered Couture’s mission is to support the community by sponsoring non-profit organizations. If you haven’t heard of Endangered Couture yet, they are a newly formed clothing label committed to spreading awareness of endangered animals and creating the highest quality sweatshop free apparel, while at the same time donating 15% of the proceeds from each item sold to the World Wildlife Fund of Canada. As their company grows they are looking to support more organizations by inaugurating the Endangered Couture Foundation to support smaller unrecognized charitable organizations and participate in more events!
