Lingerie lovers find new home online

Edinburgh, UK April 23, 2006 — Lingerie has taken its rightful place in the online fashion world, as a new weblog highlights the latest collections and best designers for lingerie lovers worldwide.

Knickers, the lingerie weblog, is a fashion weblog dedicated to lingerie – women can visit the website daily to see new products, and can search for recommendations for their own size and personality. The featured lingerie ranges from the virgin to the vixen, but all are hand-picked for their exceptional style.

“I wanted to represent beautiful lingerie as a fashion object, just like an amazing handbag or a pair of shoes,” says the Knickers editor, Danae Shell. “Designer lingerie is as haute couture as any outerwear collection, and we try to represent that at Knickers.”

To reach that goal, Shell has covered lingerie events like the Salon de la Lingerie in Paris, publishing exclusive catwalk photos on her weblog. She also publishes a series of lingerie guides in addition to her daily content, including a Valentine’s Day gift guide and a bridal lingerie guide. Each guide provides a specially selected set of products, all categorized by size, from AA to H.

“It’s very important for me to find beautiful lingerie in all sizes,” says Shell. “It’s easy to find amazing lingerie in a B cup, but women with larger or smaller cups really struggle to find beautiful pieces. I try to save them from the hassle by finding them myself.”

Knickers has been invited into a variety of fashion networks, often as the only lingerie source amidst sites about outerwear and accessories. Knickers is featured regularly at online fashion magazine Glam.com, and it has recently joined the prestigious BlogBurst network (www.blogburst.com), which syndicates weblog content into national newspaper sites.
