TFJ has a new look!

May 2006, NY – The Fashion Journal, a highly sought-after website/publication giving new designers exposure in the fashion industry, has updated their look and announced their partnership with Fashionably Independent, Black and White Fashion and Blue NK. These three PR companies pride themselves on being fashion-forward and emphasizing indie fashion designers from New York to Japan.

“I love new designers almost more than established ones,” says Jen Gesimondo, the Editor-In-Chief and co-owner of The Fashion Journal. “I think new designers are more unique and sometimes even a bit more unusual that designers that have been around for years. They haven’t had a chance to get swept away by the current trends and fashionistas yet. They’re still young and willing to experiment.” The idea of starting a magazine dedicated only to new designers, boutiques, artists, etc, came when Jen and business partner, Petra, were discussing friends who were new to the fashion industry and struggling to get recognition. The great potential in the fashion publication market led them to find and promote tons of new designers, boutique owners and artists. At first their main concern was to produce a print publication quick enough to fill the void of promoting new designers before someone else had thought to do it, but soon realized that producing an informational and interactive website first, would be much more lucrative.

“I think starting our company through Internet coverage was the smartest thing to do,” says Petra Vincent, Creative Director and co-owner of The Fashion Journal. “Our goal was to bring the creative geniuses to the forefront of the fashion world, without forcing them to change their perception of fashion by going mainstream. We want to give exposure to the ‘just-as-talented,’ yet ‘under-recognized’ designers.” The Fashion Journal has something for everyone. Whether you are 18 or 45, or if you desire trendy or urban, this is the website that you will find what you’re looking for. With hundreds of designers and over 80,000 hits per month, The Fashion Journal is the premier spot to find the latest designs coming from the newest and most exclusive designers out there.

The Fashion Journal does not just give the reader an advantage by offering them unique one-of-a-kind clothing, accessories, etc, but it also aims to give local and international designers a chance to present their distinctive designs to the public on a broader scale. Most of the international pieces are not exclusive only to The Fashion Journal, and can be found among other boutiques and websites across the U.S. and overseas. The Fashion Journal website will be updated twice a month with new designers, fashion events and editorial; there will be a database listing of great locations to shop and where to find new designers featured; as well as a feedback section which gives readers a chance to write in with fashion questions and concerns.

The Fashion Journal is fun, informative and easy to navigate. “You will learn so much about what’s different and exclusive in the world of fashion by coming to our site” says Petra, “we’re really unparalleled when it comes to fashion exposure since we feature designers that not many people have heard of before.” Look out for the premier issue of The Fashion Journal magazine, due out this Fall, (2006), which will be distributed in the NY Metro Area, the Southwest U.S., California, London, the Netherlands and Japan, (so far.)
