Santa Ana, CA – Boris Bugarski, CEO of mUrgent Corporation (http://www.murgent.com), has been named to the advisory board of the Executive Council for the College of Business and Economics of California State University, Fullerton. Advisory board membership is based on Executive Council election and is reserved for businesspersons who have demonstrated genuine enthusiasm for helping increase the college's visibility within the Orange County business community. Advisors help the Executive Council identify and implement the most effective ways to support the College's economic growth and its core scholarship and student mentoring programs.
According to Ginny Pace, the College's Director of Community Affairs, Bugarski first joined the Executive Council in 2001 and has served on the group's Communications and Visibility Committee since January 2002. The committee, chaired by Greg Arbues of CPA firm Wertz & Company, actively promotes the advantages of council membership to business leaders in the Orange County business community.
The purpose of the Executive Council is to provide the Southern California business community the ability to interact with, provide advice to, and assist the College of Business and Economics at Cal State Fullerton in achieving its goals of academic excellence and community recognition.
The Executive Council supports the College of Business and Economics in many ways. Each year the Executive Council presents the Outstanding Student and Outstanding Faculty awards and sponsors the Dean's Scholars, providing four-year scholarships to 14 deserving business students. Some Council members serve as mentors to the students while others assist and/or participate in annual events, including the Dean's Breakfast Series, the Dean's Summer Golf Classic, and the Economic Forecast Conference presented in partnership with the Orange County Business Council.
The College of Business and Economics at California State College, Fullerton, is the third largest accredited undergraduate business program in the nation, and the largest in California. It was the youngest to receive national accreditation for its degree programs. The fact that 80% of the graduates from the College of Business and Economics live and work within a 50-mile radius of the campus means that alumni have long been the engine driving the economy of Orange County and much of Southern California.
