Nuclear Jihad Next 9/11 Al-Qaeda Attack on America Warns Author of Nuclear Terrorism Book

According to Sheikh Nasir bin Hamid al-Fahd, a Saudi cleric close to Osama bin Laden, it is permissible for Al-Qaeda to attack America with a bomb "that would annihilate 10 million and burn their lands." The quote is found on the jacket of "King of Bombs," Sheldon Filger's chilling novel about nuclear terrorism. While the book presents a frightening though fictional account of Al-Qaeda's next September 11 assault on the American homeland, the quote from Sheikh al-Fahd is terrifying fact.It will be approaching five years since 9/11 occured, when Americans became aware of their fearful vulnerability. Since that fateful day, Osama bin-Laden and his senior leadership have eluded American efforts to track them down, while Al-Qaeda has demonstrated its resilency by intiating a number of deadly terrorist attacks throughout the world. The bombings on public transit systems in Madrid and London, tourists attractions in Bali and may other incidents accross the globe suggest that Al-Qaeda remains an active jihadist structure. Yet, in that same period of time, there has not been a follow-up attack in the United States by Al-Qaeda since September 11, 2001. In Mr. Filger's opinion, no comfort should be taken from this.
"The history of Al-Qaeda and its leaders, especially Osama bin-Laden, demonstrate conclusively two salient point," Filger said. "In the first place, Al-Qaeda is determined to atatck the United States again. Secondly, Al-Qaeda has demonstrated remarkable discipline and patience in the planning and tactical methodology of its major terrorist operations."
Based on Al-Qaeda's past activities and stated strategic goals, Sheldon Filger is convinced that the next 9/11 perpetrated by Al-Qaeda will be a mass casualty attack, possibly involving a nuclear weapon.
"Al-Qaeda could have launched not just one, but several attacks on par with what happened in Madrid and London, within the borders of the United States, if they wanted to," indicated the author of "King of Bombs." The fact that this has not happened is not due to American security meassures, but rather, in my view, a decision to focus on planning and executing a terrorist operation that would result in staggering consequences for the United States," Filger added.
The author of "King of Bombs" believes that Al-Qaeda must launch an atatck that not only equals, but actually exceeds 9/11 in its impact, to demonstrate its effectiveness. Any attack on America that was of a lower scale than what occured on September 11, 2001 would not serve Al-Qaeda's goals or agenda, Mr. Filger suggested.
"Al-Qaeda has in the past made clear its intentions to acquire-and use-nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, the know-how for building nuclear weapons is readily available to Al-Qaeda and the essential materials for building them are vulnerable to theft or sale through the black market. Should Al-Qaeda in fact acquire a nuclear device, there is virtually no chance at present of preventing them from detonating it in a large American city and inflicting a nuclear jihad on America," warned Mr. Filger.
