Showpals Presents Cutting-Edge Variety Acts & Shows

Indeed, ShowPals has earned a reputation for presenting acts that are unparalleled in their fields, and in some cases, of a caliber never before seen. “We do whatever is necessary to enhance what are already great acts,” says James, who has been involved with live stage productions for more than 20 years. “We employ an incredibly talented team of artistic directors, technicians, and performance coaches to work with our artists.”

The other key ingredient to Showpals “overnight success” is an incessant effort to provide not just a great show but one that is the best fit for each particular venue. “This means we don’t just provide the same package to every venue or event, we provide exactly what is the best entertainment in terms of size and style for each particular venue or event,” explains James. “And we do so within the venue’s budget without ever compromising quality.”

It is this type of dedication to perfection that has gained Showpals a reputation as being to the new century what shows like Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group were to the 1990s. “It is an honor to be compared with such fine productions,” says James, with a smile that could light up an arena. “But of course we are not just one show – we provide various kinds of entertainment, from individual acts to full-scale production shows.”

While this is true, Showpals specialty appears to be providing live variety acts or shows in more intimate venues such as dinner theaters and cabarets. During 2006-2007, Showpals and American Creative Entertainment will book more than 300 variety act spots around the world, and produce six stage show productions: Variety Girls (an all-girl variety show billed as “Ziegfeld Follies Meets MTV”); Sizzle (a Las Vegas-style floor show); Comedy Cavalcade (a touring comedy club-type line up of comedians that will play colleges and corporate events); Star Search Live (a talent “competition” featuring professional entertainers, and involving the audience as judges); and Cirque Cabaret (as the name implies, a cirque show presented in more intimate venues).

Presently, Showpals is in the process of casting, a process that will likely be ongoing. Asked what he looks for when casting, James replied without hesitation: “uniqueness, professionalism, and class.” And that is Showpals!
