Nihongo Bashi, RSST to jointly set up Center of Excellence in Japanese education in Bangalore

Nihongo Bashi (http://www.nihongobashi.com), a Singapore based leading provider of Japanese education services, and the Rashtriya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), one of the foremost providers of quality education in Karnataka, India will jointly set up a Center of Excellence in Japanese education within the RSST in Bangalore, India’s Silicon Valley. The Center of Excellence will roll out specialised educational courses to meet the rising demand for multi-skilled, bi-lingual professionals owing to strengthening economic/business relations between India and Japan.

The two organisations affirmed this partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of Mr.Chan Soo Sen, Hon’ble Minister of State for Education, Government of Singapore at the Connecting India - Asia Pacific Business Summit', being held here on April 12-13, 2006. The event is being organized by the Singapore India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI).

This tie-up is particularly significant since it is the first major cooperation treaty in the education services sector between a Singapore and Indian organisation since the two countries signed the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) last year.

One of the first initiatives of the Center of Excellence will be the “Post Graduate Diploma in Japanese Management”, a one-year full-time program that combines best of the technical aspects of Japanese management as well as business communication skills critical to success in the exciting Japan-India sector. The first intake for this program will commence in the Fall of 2006, with plans afoot to introduce multiple intakes in a year. The program is also open for students from Singapore and will have a joint investment of S$ 8 Million over the next 5 years.
