SpivO Launches Image and Picture Search Engine

April 14, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
April 14, 2006 Tampa, FL – Today, emerging search engine, SpivO.com, announced the launch of SpivO Image search. The search engine has been promising enhanced search features since Ybor City Telco purchased the search engine over a year ago.

When Ybor City Telco bought the SpivO project from SpivO’s founding tech firm, the search engine consisted of an Open Directory Project powered directory, an RSS and Java fueled “SpivO News”, and an audience that could fill half a city block. Since then, SpivO has slowly emerged to be a frequent web surfer’s stop on the internet. Currently SpivO offers free classified ads in SpivO Classifieds, Free Web Sites from MySpivO.com, the independently owned and managed SpivO Directory, a high power search engine that used web preview technology a year before Ask.com, the best Hotel, Flight, and Car Travel rates, and now an Image search engine.

SpivO.com’s intense plans for the year consist of adding two more media search engines by the end of April plus adding financial, news, and many more resources. While Ybor City Telco’s SpivO.com is a debt free organization, their current revenue source is dominantly made up by advertising dollars generated from sister company, Adviatech Corp’s fast growing customer base. Adviatech, a leading search engine optimization firm, uses data from SpivO to provide valuable insight on how the main three search engines will react to modifications made on their clients’ web sites. However, SpivO’s underlying goals are simple. Organize information in a way that is less commercialized yet profitable enough to provide funding for ongoing open source development. SpivO.com plans to build their advertiser base by introducing an integrated a portable (contextual) pay per click marketing module to expand the reach for their advertisers.

SpivO’s new Image Search is a huge step in the right direction. A great feature included in SpivO Image Search which can not be found in Google and Yahoo’s image search engines is the direct to image click. When a user clicks on an image thumbnail, the user is directed to the image source rather than the web page the image is located on. This is a feature that SpivO users expressed great interest in when testing the image search engine.

As SpivO.com moves forward in their quest to catch up with then surpass the competition, one thing is inarguable and that is a growing user base. Since SpivO’s acquisition in late 2004, their user base has consistently grown and with the addition of in demand tools, SpivO will continue to do so.
