ARTISTS AND CRAFTERS DISCOVER A MEDIUM THAT CREATES A NEW DIMENSION IN CRAFTING

Laguna Hills, CA – April 15, 2006 – Transparencies primarily used on overhead projectors in schools and offices now become a visible medium in the art and crafts industry. The 144-page book focuses strictly on the use of transparent materials emerging in the work of artists and crafters. Transparent Art illustrates the varied techniques – stamping, painting, cutting, sewing and even burning – that can be done on and with acetate transparencies, a clear and glossy plastic made of wood pulp, first introduced in the 1900s.
