"This is a tragedy of tremendous proportions with unforeseeable consequences for the entire world. In this difficult time I express, along with the entire Independent Catholic Church, our deep sorrow and strong support to the families touched by this unprecedented tragedy. We fervently pray to God, the Lord of peace and love, to grant to the families of those lost to the tsunami, abundant solace and unlimited strength."
Archbishop Gary Beaver directed all Interdenominational churches throughout the world to open during this New Year's holiday and directed the clergy to lead the faithful in prayer for divine protection and for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in this disaster of such biblical proportions.
In closing, His Eminence prayed "It's imperative for everyone, no matter of what denomination or faith, to come forward and to do all they can to help our brothers and sisters in Asia, and it is important that we offer prayer in our homes, and in our places of worship, as we will only feel at peace in knowing we are praying for those who have departed in the Lord, and those who continue to suffer from the results of these tragic events. We must help the relief agencies and offer our financial support to those who need our help at this hour.
