Wells, Maine — David Patterson, owner of Canbury Homes, has announced that his company now offers a web site at www.Canbury.com to give the public free access to information about turn-key, custom modular homes in the Portland and Yarmouth areas, and throughout York and Cumberland Counties.

"Because over 1,000 modular homes are built in Maine each year, we decided to provide the public with free information to help them learn about modular homes. There are many misconceptions about modular houses, and most people do not know what to look for in this type of construction. We are hopeful that our web site helps consumers to become knowledgeable," explained Patterson.

Some consumers are already well informed about modular construction and they know what they are looking for. Patterson's web site at www.Canbury.com helps those home buyers learn how to select the right builder, and even gives guidance on how a home buyer can be their own general contractor.

Others are completely uninformed, and Patterson said his web site is particularly helpful to them.

"Consumers who do not know anything about modular can easily make a wrong decision and end up with problems. Many people think that modular means cheap. That is completely wrong. Unfortunately some people buy a double wide mobile home and think they are getting a modular home. In this market you can get a really nice modular home that will appreciate in value, or you can end up with a mobile home that looks nice but will depreciate in value.
