Midwest Decoy Collectors Association to hold annual show and convention at Pheasant Run Resort April 28th – 29th

St. Charles, Ill. – Duck Decoy collectors and individuals interested in antiques, folk art and sporting collectibles will flock to the Midwest Decoy Collectors Association annual show April 28th – 29th at Pheasant Run Resort & Spa (4051 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174, 800-474-3272). The show is open to the public Friday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Over 20,000 items will be available to view, buy, sell or trade including decoys, calls, fishing lures, shell and shooting boxes, artwork, signs, books and other collectibles. Show highlights include a free identification and evaluation clinic, duck call carving competitions and special exhibits.
Duck decoys are an intriguing part of American folk art. Originally constructed as a utilitarian tool of the nation’s waterfowlers, decoys have long since become popular collectibles. The Midwest Decoy Collectors Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of the decoy as functional folk art. This is the 41st anniversary for the show and the 20th year the show has been held at Pheasant Run Resort.

• National Duck Call Makers and Collectors of America call competition and convention. Events occur throughout the week with member meetings, call demonstrations and judging for call maker’s carving contest.
