“The Swagger issue: it’s self-explanatory, it’s the way you talk, walk and how you carry yourself in your everyday life with that self-confidence, self-ambition and self-pride that makes you who you are,” says Edwin Diaz, the Editor-in-Chief of So Hood Magazine. So Hood Magazine is set to release the second annual issue for Spring 2006, which will feature some highly recognizable profiled faces in the entertainment world. One of those faces featured inside the second issue of So Hood Magazine is none other than the always outspoken and funny Stand up comedian Carlos Mencia whose last year successful Comedy Central half-hour show entitled “Mind of Mencia” received rave reviews from several media outlets. “Mencia enlightens our So Hood readers with his insightful perspective on various issues pertaining to poverty, politics, and social subject matters,” says Edwin Diaz, the Editor-in-Chief of So Hood Magazine. “We’re always looking to bring meaningful and thought provoking and profound stories to our So Hood readers.”
Some other renown faces, The Original Latin King of Comedy, actor/comedian Paul Rodriguez shares his life experiences on the struggles to making it big. As well as UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) Hall of fame Mixed Martial arts fighter Ken Shamrock reflects on his past and his future in which once again, he’s ready to settle an old score in the octagon ring with rival Tito Ortiz in a rematch that will take place later on this year.
“There's a line I like in the beginning of the film Gladiator where Maximus speaks to his soldiers just before they head into battle "What we do in life echoes an eternality,” says the Editor-in-Chief. “That line best describes what So Hood Magazine is about the struggle, the pain, the hustle, and sacrifices that people make everyday to survive not just in the hood but life in general is a battle that all of us have to face head on. And it's our duty to report and document their stories whether if it’s on print, video or online their stories are going to be told and cemented into people's minds forever.”
