Blueprint Entertainment Provides Fun For Our Youth

Thomas “Tommy the Clown” Johnson, a Detroit native and star of the hit film RIZE returns home to host Blueprint Entertainment’s DETROIT BOUNCE, a $1000 hip hop dance competition. Detroit Bounce will showcase some of the Midwest’s hottest dance teams as well as entertainment acts. The event takes place on Saturday April 8th at the Community Arts Auditorium located at Wayne State University. Tickets are $12 and the doors open at 6pm. Born in Detroit and raised in South Central Los Angeles, California, Tommy founded the freestyle dance movement clowning now known as krumping more than 13 years ago to encourage creativity among at-risk youth and provide them with a non-violent outlet.
Tommy has gained an amazingly wide fan base around the world after appearing in Lions Gate Films feature documentary, “RIZE.” Tommy is internationally recognized as the Father of Krumping and serves as a positive role model in urban communities across the country. Tommy is also acknowledged as the inspiration for new dance movements in other cities including Hyphy from Northern California.
Tommy has appeared on various television shows and in numerous newspapers and magazines. Tommy has shared the stage with celebrity mega stars like Will Smith, Snoop Dogg, and Usher. Special guest appearances include “Larry King Live,” “The Tonight Show,” “MTV Music Awards,” and the “CBS Evening News.”
Tommy’s dream is to continue to spread his movement throughout the world and to promote expressions through artistic dance, as well as assist young people realize there is always another alternative to reach their fullest potential.
