Comfortex Window Fashions Earns Six Innovation Awards from Window Covering Manufacturers Association Maplewood, NY… The Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) announced on March 10, 2006 that Comfortex Corporation, a worldwide leader in the custom window fashion industry, has been recognized with six awards from part of their 2006 Product Innovation Awards Competition. Comfortex has earned 32 Production Innovation Awards in the past six years.
In the Alternative Shading and Pleated and Roman Shade Categories, Comfortex received two separate Best New Style Concept Awards for Serenade™ Tranquil Sheer Roman and Roller Shades. Tranquil Sheer fabrics provide these classic lines with a touch of elegant sheer whimsy. Tranquil Sheer is available in a variety of attractive Roman and Roller Shade styles which accent any wide range of decorating styles.
In the Pleated and Roller Shades Category, the Most Innovative Overall Design Award was given to Overtones™ Sheer Roller Shades. Overtones is comprised of a dual layer of alternating knit and sheer vanes. When the shading is in the closed, overlapping position, the room is softly darkened. When the shading is open and the vanes are aligned, light is allowed to filter through the sheers for gentle illumination.
Ballet™ Performance Drapery Sheers earned the award for Most Innovative Overall Design in the Vertical Category. Comfortex’s patent pending Ballet Performance Drapery Sheers combine soft folds and curves of drapery fabrics with the ease and performance of vertical blinds. Ballet’s billowing patterned sheers are married together with the soft light filtering function of a vertical blind. The addition of optional vanes offers privacy and room darkening capabilities.
The Energy Smart Consumer Campaign won the award for Best Advertising and Promotional Program in the Merchandising Category. With the rising energy costs a worldwide problem, Comfortex was determined to help its dealers demonstrate to the consumer the energy saving benefits of window coverings. The campaign included the Saving Energy Never Looked So Good report which highlights projected consumer savings per window when covered with Comfortex Energy Smart Cellular Shades. The initiative coincided with the start of the winter heating season, allowing Comfortex cellular shade sales to grow over 17% in the fourth quarter of 2005.
Comfortex was also awarded an Honorable Mention for the WCMA Product Innovation Award for the Best Advertising and Promotions Program in the Merchandising Category. The Advertising on Wheels Van Wrap Program enables Comfortex BlindCrafter dealers to capitalize on an opportunity to turn their vehicle in a company billboard and traveling showroom.
“Comfortex is proud to accept these prestigious WCMA Awards and is proud of the employees who continue to develop innovative products. Innovative products have been instrumental in helping our Comfortex dealers achieve strong growth in the past, and these new products should be highly successful in the years ahead,” stated Mr. Thomas J. Marusak, President of Comfortex Window Fashions.
The WCMA Product Innovation Awards Competition is open to all manufacturers and suppliers of window coverings in the United States and Canada to recognize significant advancements in the window covering industry. These WCMA Product Innovation Awards will be presented to Comfortex at a ceremony in Tampa in conjunction with the International Window Coverings Expo on Thursday, March 30, 2006.
