FORMER AMERICAN IDOL FINALIST WED IN HOLLYWOOD

Los Angeles, CA – Greater Mount Zion Church in downtown Los Angeles played “stage” to Hollywood’s match made in “heaven” as Nadia Turner, a season four finalist on FOX’s hit television show American Idol said “I Do” to former Black Entertainment Television’s host, Joe Claire on Monday.

Presiding pastor of services was Johnny Brown, “Bookman” of the late 70’s series Good Times. Turner and Claire were joined by celebrity witnesses such as former Oscar Nominee Margaret Avery [The Color Purple], Marion Ramsey [Police Academy] and Shavar Ross [Diff’rent Strokes] to name a few.

In fact, the wedding ceremony was actually a scene from Shavar Ross’s directorial debut project entitled “A Taste of Us” and included additional celebrity appearances. Turner and Claire mark their acting debuts as supporting actors ‘Kayla’ and ‘Jewels’ respectively, opposite newcomer Bill Tolliver as Reverend Thomas. The film has been inked to an exclusive distribution deal with leading home video distributor, Image Entertainment.

Currently in production, the urban romantic comedy follows the lives of two young misfits who help a recently widowed, elderly Baptist preacher regain his church after members of his congregation are convinced he’s planning on eloping with a woman forty-five years his junior.

Cites Ross, “I’m excited to work with Image Entertainment in bringing my first film into fruition. I’ve had a fulfilling career as an actor and now look forward to embarking on a professional directing career.”

Shavar Ross’s career credits span over 20 years, having starred in over 100 films, including "Friday The 13th Part 5," and "What's Love Got To Do With It?" His television work includes "Magnum P. I.," "MacGyver," "Chicago Hope," "Designing Women" and "Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air," to name a few. Now CEO of Tri Seven Entertainment, Ross is joined on production by Pearl Devers, whose credits include the award winning CBS movie “The Rosa Parks Story”.
