Web 2.0 Startup FeedBite.com Endeavors to Bring RSS to the Masses

DALLAS, Texas — After many months of planning and development FeedBite is available to the public, and with this service we believe the future of syndicated feeds is starting to take shape.RSS feeds allow publishers to more easily syndicate content directly to their readers; however; the reader has little control over what they see. FeedBite allows readers to combine all their favorite sources into 1 feed and filter that feed by any keyword they choose. Creating the perfect bundle to syndicate only the news related to a specific topic of interest puts the power back in the readers’ hands.
And since we are a free service, in the spirit of helping others find the best content available, we encourage our visitors to share their bundles and allow the community to add and remove feeds. We have no limits on the number of bundles you can create, or the number of feeds you can add to a bundle.
And the best bundles are rewarded. The more interest a bundle receives, the higher it is ranked within its category. But rather then relying on direct votes, FeedBite has created a unique algorithm to gauge popularity, with the specific intent to minimize the ability of spammers to control the content of our homepage.
FeedBite has also made it extremely simple to create your own feed. The “Add to My Feed” links found next to each article allow visitors to create their own Drudge Report in only a few minutes. Personalization is coming soon.
FeedBite hopes to continue innovating in this space with new community interaction tools and new content retrieval tools that simply don’t exist today. We hope you will follow our story as what you see today is only the beginning.
ATOM feeds will be supported soon.
