Ward Burton to appear on NASCAR Professor and Mary Ann Show

NASCAR NEXTEL CUP veteran Ward Burton, 43, will be discussing his wildlife foundation as well conservation issues and his life on the NASCAR circuit. Burton is founder of the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation, an organization dedicated to wildlife conservation, habitat enhancement, and proper stewardship of our natural resources.
About Ward Burton:
Burton made his NASCAR debut running full-time in the Busch Series in 1990. In his rookie season, Burton scored three top-10 finishes, ranked 21st in the overall standings, and was Rookie of the Year runner-up to winner Joe Nemechek. Burton competed full-time in the Busch Series from 1990 to 1993 before making his move to Winston Cup. He posted his first Busch Series win in 1992 at North Carolina Speedway and the following year scored three victories (Martinsville, Orange County and Atlanta). In addition to his four wins, Burton posted 14 top-5 finishes, 31 top-10 finishes, and six poles. He earned his best points standing in 1993, his last full-time season in the Busch series, when he ranked 6th.
Burton made his Winston Cup debut in 1994 as driver of the #31 Hardee's Chevrolet. In his first Cup season, Burton recorded one top-5, two top-10's, and one pole and finished the season ranked 35th in the overall standings and was Rookie of the Year runner-up to his brother, Jeff. Burton joined Bill Davis Racing in September 1995 and after only seven races with BDR won his and the team's first Winston Cup race at North Carolina Speedway.
Burton was driver of Bill Davis Racing's #22 until October 2003 when he and the team parted ways. During his tenure with Bill Davis Racing, Burton posted four more wins, including Darlington's Southern 500 in 2001 and the Daytona 500 in 2002. His best points finish to date was 9th at the end of the 1999 season. In 2000, he earned a 10th place finish in the overall standings.
In 2004 Burton drove the Hass/CNC racing #0 car. Towards the end of the season Burton left the team and is currently evaluating his next career move.
