Worldwide Celebration Honors Author and Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard

A best-selling author during his 50-year writing career, Hubbard wrote 19 New York Times bestsellers including Dianetics, which first appeared on the list in 1950 and returned again in 1988. The book has gone on to sell more than 20 million copies and become the most popular self-improvement book in the world. With more than 200 million copies of his works sold in 65 languages, Guinness World Records recently awarded Mr. Hubbard the title of the world’s most translated author.The annual celebration is studded this year with dozens of filmed accolades for his humanitarian work from religious leaders and scholars, educators, government officials and civil leaders, in addition to private individuals who knew him during his life of prodigious and influential achievements.
One of those interviewed was Reverend James McLaughlin, senior pastor of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church of Houston, Texas, one of the oldest and largest African American churches in the country. He is also the National Director of Substance Abuse responsible for the 2.5 million members of the African Methodist community and a proponent of L. Ron Hubbard’s drug education and rehabilitation methodology. Speaking about the benefits he has personally witnessed from this program, he stated, “It stems from the genius of a man who God has blessed, in my tradition, to be a contribution to humanity. So I admire him. I respect him. I consider him to be an angel that came to help humankind to work out its problems.”
Another who expressed admiration for L. Ron Hubbard was Reverend Charles Kennedy of the Church of Christ in Florida: “There is something that is so profound, that’s ever more valuable than gold or diamonds in these technologies (of L. Many other officials from the United Stated, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America acknowledged Mr. Hubbard’s positive impact on the world. These included two county Sheriffs and the Western Regional Representative for the Nation of Islam, Mr. Tony Muhammad.
