Partner at Martin Kane Kuper in New Jersey Receives Civil Trial Practice Award

(North Brunswick, NJ) – James D. Martin, Jr., a partner in the firm of Martin Kane Kuper, was recognized for his significant contributions to the legal profession by the Board of Trustees of the Middlesex County Bar Association at their recent General Membership Meeting Awards Dinner. Martin was named this year’s winner of the organization’s Civil Trial Practice Award. The event was held at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.
Named one of the first Certified Civil Trial Attorneys in the State of New Jersey in 1982, Martin has tried hundreds of civil cases in such areas as medical malpractice, products liability, construction litigation, civil rights, general negligence and catastrophic injury, and has served as lead trial counsel for Middlesex County in preparation and trial of civil rights and police-related issues.
He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and certified by the American Board of Trial Advocates as a Civil Trial Specialist. Martin is also certified by the National Board of Trial Attorneys, and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
He was admitted to practice in and has argued cases in all divisions of the State and Federal Courts including the New Jersey and United States Supreme Courts.
Martin has handled matters in the Federal Multi-District Legislation Panel and has also served as lead counsel in several multi-party, mass tort litigation matters.
Other honorees at the awards dinner included Julia McClure, Deputy 1st Assistant Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, who will received the Hon. Aldona Appleton Award (presented by the Women Lawyers' Section); Ronald B. Grayzel, Esq. of Levinson Axelrod, who received the Pro Bono Award; Darren M. Gelber, Esq. of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer and Mark A. Anderl, Esq. of Anderl & Oakley who both received the Criminal Trial Practice Award; and Peter H. Lederman, Esq. of Lomurro, Davison, Eastman & Munoz, who received the Municipal Court Practice Award.
The association also recognized members who have been admitted to the New Jersey Bar for 50 years.
