RALEIGH, N.C. – Ragsdale Liggett PLLC has announced that a senior partner and a founding member, George R. Ragsdale, has been recognized among the top lawyers in North Carolina by North Carolina Super Lawyers, an annual consumer’s guide published jointly by Charlotte Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine.

Super Lawyers are the top five percent of attorneys in each state, as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics, which performs the polling, research and selection in a process designed to identify lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Throughout the selection process, Law & Politics meets and corresponds with hundreds of law firms in the state to identify the top lawyers in those firms. The Law & Politics attorney-led research team actively searches for outstanding attorneys to complement the statewide survey of lawyers. George R. Ragsdale is co-author of “You Can Be Sued By People Who Are Not Your Patients;” “Punitive Damages: Are they Constitutional in North Carolina and Does Your Liability Policy Cover Them;” and “Race-Based Peremptory Challenges of Civil Jurors Held Unconstitutional.” A frequent lecturer, Ragsdale has lectured on the collapse of the Kansas City Hyatt Hotel Skywalks, a complex insurance liability and mass tort litigation, in which he was lead defense counsel to the insurance carriers. He has spoken before the North Carolina Association of Defense Counsel on the Doctrine of Comparative Negligence in Admiralty Cases and before the Excess/Surplus Lines Claims Association on the Defense of Mass Catastrophe Litigation.
