Brooks College Rock N Design Fest March '06

On March 17, 2006, Brooks College students will take over the Queen Mary for the hottest rock concert event of the year. Hosted by Steven E. Kimbrough, the Executive Producer of the Laugh is Hope Comedy Club.


Four bands that have their music on My Space agreed to allow Brooks College Students to compete to design digital and printed media for their current projects. The Brooks College Rock N Design Fest ‘06 was born.

Brooks College students are hard at work on designs for the My Space bands that will be performing at the event. The bands will select the designs they like the best for their musical and bands’ images. Designs submitted are for CD covers, T-shirts, music videos, animation, band posters, flyers, logos, conceptual design and more. The students that are selected for best designs will have their works displayed the night of the concert on the big screen behind the bands as they perform. There will also be various art displays placed at the event from the students. Many local businesses are jumping on board to support this effort including Apple, and a production company called T Mobile, Odds, on CD & DVD Manufacturing.

15% of the proceeds will go to the Tech Point technology committee of the Long Beach Chamber of commerce Scholarship fund. What a way to bring education, design, technology and music together all on one stage!

The four bands headlining this amazing event are Thinking Aloud, first wave hello, AVARICE, and sputnik monroe. They all have their music on the My Space web site at: http://www.myspace.com/rockndesigners.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 at the door for non-Brooks College students.
