Wedding Planners Win Prestigious National Award

Wedding planning company, TK Weddings, is officially the best in the UK after winning their hotly fought category at The Wedding Awards 2006. The judging panel, made up of some of the top names in the wedding industry, were incredibly impressed by the company’s track record, their service offering, creativity and their commitment to clients.

“We were thrilled to have been nominated so we’re ecstatic now we’ve won!” says Managing Director Tamryn Kirby. “Everyone in the team literally puts their heart and soul into every wedding we work on so this is a real acknowledgement that clients and other industry professionals respect that and love what we do.”

Wedding planners are becoming more popular in the UK with a recent survey stating that 26% of couples now use a planner. Because of this, and the perceived glamour of the industry, more and more planning companies are launching and so competition in the marketplace has increased dramatically over the last year and this makes the achievement of TK Weddings even more impressive.

“We stand out from many other companies because we are genuinely passionate about the service that we provide to our clients and have imposed a strict code of conduct on ourselves so we always exceed expectations.” says Tamryn. “We also offer a range of services so there’s something in there for the majority of couples. For example, some clients just want someone to set up their venue for them on the morning of the wedding so we offer that whilst some want us to literally handle everything. We can be flexible as our clients need us to be and, as with anything wedding related, couples don’t want to feel that they’re receiving the same as everyone else.”

TK coined the phrase ‘on the day’ co-ordination back in 2003 to relate to their service that allows the client handles all of the planning for the wedding but then everything is handed over to a member of the TK team to look after on the day itself. “There was no middle ground for couples – you either had no help at all or you hired a planner to deal with everything.” explains Tamryn “I just felt that there had to be a compromise so launched our ‘TK on the Day’ service and that’s been so well received by couples.” And this expert help and reassurance isn’t as expensive as most people would think either. “For our ‘on the day’ service, we just charge a flat fee of £260 – I think many couples are put off using a wedding planner because they assume it’ll be hugely expensive or that planners are only for those on huge budgets when this certainly isn’t the case.”

So 2006 has started incredibly well for the team at TK Weddings and with their starring role in an upcoming tv series, publication of Tamryn’s first book and some great weddings, who knows what might happen next for the women at TK Weddings…
