PetsFart.com - Will it Raise a Big Stink?

People that happen across PetsFart.com as they surf the internet may be suprised when they hear the sound of what must be a very large dog passing gas. The site contains nothing more than comic strips of dogs, cats and other popular types of pets having "gas" problems and appears to be a parody of a popular pet store chains website.

The owner of the website, Sandy McCarthy, claims that she has not received any e-mails from offended visitors. "On the contrary, the only e-mails I have received are from people that wanted to thank me for injecting a little humor into their day." When asked if she has any concerns over how the pet store chain whose website PetsFart.com is modeled after might feel about the site, Sandy stated "I don't say anything negative about them on the site, and I didn't even mention their name, but we'll see. I really don't think they'll have a problem with it."

While the Petsfart.com website may be on the borderline of bad taste, there is no offensive language on the site and according to Sandy, it isn't meant to be offensive. "It's just off the wall strange and somewhat stupid humor. Even though the subject isn't pretty, I don't put anything on the site that is only funny because it's disgusting, I try to keep it as tasteful as possible considering the material." When asked where the ideas for the cartoon skits come from Sandy says "some of the ideas are mine, some of the ideas are from the artist, and a few of the ideas come from suggestions from visitors to the site."
