Global Electronic Media Converges On Dubai As CABSAT2006 Opens Doors

His Excellency Sultan Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Governmental Sector Development, officially opened the 12th Middle East International Cable, Satellite, Broadcast and Communication Exhibition, CABSAT2006 today (March 7th).“We were delighted that HE Al Mansoori visited our stand this morning. CABSAT is the leading event of its kind in the Middle East and as such we felt that it is important for us to have a significant presence at the show to support our existing clients as well as to attract new ones,” said Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision.

The show, which runs till 9th March 2006 occupies Halls 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and will welcome more than 8,000 trade visitors and professionals this year.
Visitors to the exhibition can meet a variety of key exhibitors including renowned names like Selevision, Eurostar, Triax, Technosat, E-Vision, Arabsat, Eutelsat, Dubai Studio City, Snell & Wilcox Oasis, Panasonic and SONY amongst others.
“Eurostar has been participating at CABSAT2006 since its inception and we feel it is a very important event for us internationally, as well as in this region as we are the leading company in the Cable and Satellite industry. We have chosen CABSAT as our platform to launch some very interesting products like the Home Media Centre - PC & the Worlds FirstArab Box,” remarked Swithin D'Silva, Marketing Manager, Eurostar Group.
The show is endorsed by leading industry organisations like Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), International Association Of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) and GVF.
“CABSAT2006 is truly an international event with the support of 439 companies from more than 45 countries. These companies are showcasing latest developments in the three industry sectors Broadcast & Production, Cable & Satellite and Communications,” said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The exhibition also offers visitors the opportunity to get updates on the latest industry information and developments at the conference and symposiums. Opening tomorrow, (March 8, 2006) will be the 2nd CABSAT2006 Broadcast Conference on “Digitalisation - The Continuing Challenge For Broadcasters” and the 2ND GVF Middle East Satellite Symposium entitled “Growing the Broadband Networking Environment & the Middle East Satellite Imperative”.
On March 9, the 1st Middle-East DVB-RCS Symposium debates “Answering Satellite Communications Challenges with DVB-RCS”.
Admission to the conference and symposiums are free to trade visitors and spaces are allocated on a first come basis. Interested visitors are requested to register on the day between 11am and 7pm.
