BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – MARCH 07, 2006 - SPECTOR TRAVEL OF BOSTON invites you to join them for their annual summer tour to Senegal and The Gambia July 1 – 8, 2006. The eight-day tour includes two nights in Banjul, The Gambia and three nights in Dakar, Senegal. In The Gambia, there is shopping at the Banjul market for woodcarvings, jewelry and African artifacts and a stop at an orphan village, health center and nursery/primary school, so that passengers will be able to donate the clothing, medical, and school supplies that they have brought from America. Travelers will visit Juffureh, a village made famous by Alex Haley's "Roots."
In Senegal, the tour group will travel by ferryboat to Goree Island's infamous slave house. In Dakar, they will visit Independence Square, the Presidential Palace, the University of Dakar, the handicraft village of Soumbedioune, the Grande Mosquee and the bustling Sandaga and Kermel markets.
The cost is $1825 per person double occupancy, including round-trip economy airfare from New York to Dakar, 5 nights in a first class hotel with five breakfasts, sightseeing, transfers and hotel service charges. single rate is $2125
