AFA NAMES "CLASS OF 2006" SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME

The American Football Association recently released the names of those who will be enshrined into the national association's "Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame" on Saturday, June 10th. The twenty-six new inductees will expand the number of dedicated semi-pro footballers selected for the AFA's top honor to five hundred twenty-six (526).

This years HOF enshrinement dinner, the 26th of its kind, will be held at the North Canton, Ohio, Holiday Inn and will be the main attraction of the AFA¹s busy weekend of events. The AFA will hold its summer executive board meetings on Thursday, June 8th followed by the annual Semi-Pro Football Legends Huddle cocktail party Friday Night (June 9). Every year the HOF Alumni Legends huddle-up with the new inductees the evening prior to their enshrinement to welcome the rookie semi-pro greats to AFA's unique football brotherhood.

The following names have been added to the American Football Association’s list of Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame Legends in the categories that precede their names.

PLAYERS: Charles Allen (Lithonia, GA); Mike Bonner (Oak Bridge, NJ);
Hubie Bryant, Jr. (Lawrenceville, VA); Mike Cain (Las Vegas, NV); Jamie Caleb (Northfield, OH); Bob Cunningham (Boston, MA); Dan Dragan (Willsburg, KY); Dave Havern (Pittsburgh, PA); John Hyder (Roosevelt, UT); Clarence Jones, Jr. (Nettleton, MS); Bob Kleffman (Tinley Park, IL); Pete Quackenbush (Glens Falls, NY); Alfonso Smith (Gladstone, MI); Craig Smith (Miramar, FL); Steve Studer (Massillon, OH) - posthumously.

The Holiday Inn (North Canton) has a special AFA discount room rate of $84 per night (1-800-HOLIDAY) for those attending the AFA Hall of Fame weekend events. The AFA's 2nd annual Semi-Pro Football Convention/Tradeshow will also be conducted on Saturday morning June 10th at the Canton Holiday Inn.
