Image portal of Photos from Leipzig (Germany): leipzig-picture.com launched

A new portal of Photos from Leipzig, Germany, www.leipzig-picture.com, is launched. The portal intends to give a visual impression of the East German town that will be a venue of the FIFA World Cup 2006 held in June this year (5 matches). Leipzig is also being known as the starting point of the “turn”, 1989 in the former German Democratic Republic that led to the unification of both parts of Germany. The portal aims at establishing media contacts between international and Leipzig-based media. It is further enhanced in the next weeks so that it will be a competent partner for the international media during the FIFA World Cup 2006 and after this.
The portal allows searching, commenting and acquiring pictures of Leipzig. There is also a section with Leipzig-related news from international sources. Lars Goehler, journalist-photographer of the portal says: “We have quite a lot of traffic now, but it will be much more when Leipzig is in the focus of the world press. To be able to enhance the portal quickly and professionally we still look for partners and sponsors.”
