Jackson Hewitt ipower(R) CashCard Provides Convenience and Security

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Feb. 8 — Jackson Hewitt Tax Service(R) (NYSE: JTX), the nation's second largest tax preparation service, is continuing to offer its ipower CashCard this tax season to give taxpayers a convenient, secure way to receive funds. Customers who qualify for select Jackson Hewitt(R) financial products can choose to have their refund or loan proceeds transferred onto an ipower CashCard instead of receiving a check. Jackson Hewitt's ipower CashCard is a prepaid MasterCard that can be used for purchases at more than 24 million locations. MasterCard is also accepted and used to access cash at one million ATM locations nationwide.
This year for the first time, Jackson Hewitt customers who elect to receive their tax refund or loan proceeds on the ipower CashCard will have an option to upgrade their ipower CashCard into an ipower Payroll Card. With the ipower Payroll Card, taxpayers can direct their employers to have their wages placed onto the card through an electronic deposit. This provides individuals who do not have traditional bank accounts the convenience of receiving these funds automatically, without having to travel to a check cashing establishment. In addition, taxpayers with multiple jobs can enjoy the ipower Payroll Card's portability. By simply providing their card account information to each of their employers, ipower Payroll Card holders enjoy convenience and security with each payroll deposit. Plus, since the ipower Payroll Card can be used year-round, taxpayers can return to Jackson Hewitt next year to have their taxes prepared and have any refund they are due loaded directly onto the card.

Jackson Hewitt customers automatically qualify for the ipower CashCard by selecting an Accelerated Check Refund, an option that allows taxpayers to have their refund electronically transmitted from the IRS and placed onto a check or the ipower CashCard. The ipower CashCard, available exclusively at Jackson Hewitt locations across the country, can also be selected when a taxpayer is approved for a Refund Anticipation Loan or a Money Now(SM) Loan.
