Madison WI-February 26, 2006– The Global Youth Coordinator for the United Nations sought out innovation consulting company BrainReactions to develop ideas for their latest initiative, the Millennium Campaign. The United Nations Millennium Campaign was established in 2002 by Secretary General Kofi Annan to convince governments to live up to their promises to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. The Goals are a series of eight targets, focusing on issues like global poverty, AIDS research, and environmental sustainability. The Goals were developed in the year 2000, with a deadline set for 2015.
The Millennium Campaign is centered on encouraging young people to hold their governments accountable for the promises they made to solve these global issues.
Searching for ways to reach Generation-Y, the U.N. called upon BrainReactions after founder and CEO, Anand Chhatpar was named one of BusinessWeek Online’s top young entrepreneurs. The firm was just right for the project, as BrainReactions helps companies innovate new products, services and marketing concepts by conducting brainstorming sessions with college students.
After learning his company would assist the U.N. on such a noteworthy project, Chhatpar was thrilled.
“This is a fantastic project, and the perfect example of how college students can work to impact the world,” he said.
BrainReactions conducted six brainstorms for the U.N. including an on online session. Global Youth Coordinator Amil Husain is optimistic about the findings and ideas from the students.
“I have submitted the ideas to our entire global team and am already receiving very
good feedback from our coordinators on the ground,” he said. “I am sure the ideas generated during these sessions will assist our country campaigns to mobilize more young people to take action on the Goals.”
