Hamilton Sundstrand’s Applied Instrument Technologies Introduces its New Raman Process Product Line, the RPM Series

Hamilton Sundstrand’s Applied Instrument Technologies introduces the new RPM line of process analyzers. The RPM Series includes the RPM MD™, a multi-channel analyzer available in rack mount or bench top configuration, for lab and pilot scale reaction monitoring, general purpose on-line, at-line, in-line process monitoring. The RPM MD joins the Raman RPM 785™, a process Raman system packaged for hazardous areas. Together, both systems provide unique tools for product development, process development and production process monitoring. The RPM Series sets a new benchmark in signal to noise ratio and features a unique continuous automatic frequency scale correction that provides permanent calibration. The RPM Series provides rapid, accurate and stable monitoring of physical properties and chemical composition of liquids, such as emulsions and slurries and solids with a greater sampling ease than many other technologies. These features position Raman as an important measurement tool for the polymer, pharmaceutical, chemical and food and beverage industries.
The RPM 785 operates under the PC 80 process software used in the Analect on-line FTIR and FTNIR process analyzers. The RPM MD also utilizes PC 80™ as well as Grams AI/7™ which is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and available for FDA cGMP required applications. A wide variety of PCR and PLS chemometric tools are also available.

The RPM technology was derived from Hamilton Sundstrand, Pomona’s development of the Smart Raman Spectrometer Demonstration Unit project as part of the Mars Instrument Development Project program for NASA Research.”
