Cardiologist Warns: Malpractice Threat Looms For Doctors Who Ignore Heart Scans

“The medical community is failing miserably to identify potential heart disease victims before the damage is done. Practicing physicians need to wake up to the fact that they are not only doing patients a tremendous disservice, but they are also exposing themselves to considerable threat of malpractice action,” Davis adds. “Coronary heart disease detection is now just a few heartbeats away,” Davis explains. “A decade of investigation has verified the efficacy of CT heart scans for detecting both early and advanced heart disease. Doctors who fail to keep apprised of these findings put themselves at risk for becoming defendants in a maelstrom of malpractice litigation.”
The American Heart Association estimates that 700,000 Americans will suffer a heart attack this year; 41% of these will die. “The considerable number of persons debilitated by avoidable heart attacks and heart procedures, and the heirs and estates of those who have died, all represent potential plaintiffs in a legal windstorm of staggering proportions,” Davis warns.
Only one such plaintiff will be necessary to find an attorney who recognizes the scale and magnitude of potential damages and move forward on a contingency basis. Using a conservative estimate of $500,000 in damages per plaintiff, Davis estimates that total damages could exceed $400 billion, particularly if this threat is collected into a class action.
Davis is the nation’s leading advocate of CT heart scanning. He is author of the only available mainstream book about heart scanning, “Track Your Plaque: the only heart disease prevention program that shows how to use the new CT heart scans to detect, track, and prevent coronary plaque”.
