Kansas City, Ks… Manion’s International Auction will host a unique online auction of artifacts from both Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. The Auction will begin March 1st and will close Sunday, March 19th at 8:30 P.M. CST. This is a great opportunity for collectors to bid on artifacts consigned for the first time, by GIs and civilian contractors who have returned from service. Among the more unique items is a prayer rug used by Hussein, once featured in a CNN report and presented to the consignor by a servant in the Presidential palace in Tikrit. Other items include propaganda leaflets and bumper stickers offering to pay a bounty for information on Hussein’s whereabouts, documents, and uniform items worn by Hussein and other high ranking officers. Also being offered is a pre-1959 Order of El-Rafidain (“Two Rivers”) grand cross and sash, awarded for exceptional service, much like the US Medal of Honor. American military uniforms, specialized gear and insignia will also be featured.
This is a rare opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to bid and own pieces from Iraq. The auction will be online starting March 1st at www.manions.com.
